Meeting in Frankfurt for the University Musical

Yesterday evening Nick, Patrick, Michael, and Elizabeth came by train to meet me in Frankfurt to see the student-written musical production at the university. Elizabeth and Michael had seen it with my colleagues, Grandma and me the weekend before and wanted to see it again. Patrick was curious to see what he missed, which meant we had to go on Thursday because today, Friday, he was going to Georg's. Nick thought if everyone else is going, he didn't want to miss anything! We also met up with Dorothee and Kristine.

It was fun seeing two of my students act and sing, one former student play the percussion instruments, and two more students serve the drinks. Patrick was most impressed by the keyboardist (truly amazing); Nick thought the group did a particularly good  job with the choreography; Elizabeth liked Charlotte's voice best, and Michael enjoyed it overall.

The script was similar to Glee's and had a very diverse cast of characters: the cute, blonde law student, the uptight girlfriend-boyfriend pair, the red-haired delinquent, the guy who loves Shakespeare, the gal who is always promoting a cause, the popular flirt, the stuttering gay boy, the girl who talks like a baby, and so forth. The atmosphere was great; yesterday the students even got a standing ovation.
