Wacky weather and new activities

The hurricane on the East Coast is on the front page of our Sunday paper. Hope it doesn't affect our New York relatives. The weather is indeed wacky these days. Last week we had such a hot and humid day that as I was lying on my bed with no sheets and the window open; I could hear the faint sound of airplanes overhead and was transported to summer nights lying on the twin bed at Oma's in Queens. Today we are freezing.

I've been busy doing lots of paperwork for the start of my new contract at Goethe University and class preparation for the academic writing classes I'll start teaching next month at the European Business School. We are starting to adjust to the new schedule. Each child has different hours each day. Crazy, but at least Patrick and Michael can just walk home when they are finished for the day.

New activities for this school year are Michael's soccer club on Mondays and chess club on Thursdays. After chess, he has tennis training, and seems to be a natural! Patrick leaves for Tuscany on Friday and has been busy preparing a presentation he has to do on San Gimignano. Nick already has two interviews set up for the dual studies program he's pursuing for next year. He went blazer/dress pants/dress shoes shopping with Georg yesterday:)
