Bunk bed disassembled

We had a big project last weekend--getting Patrick a new bed, taking apart Michael's bunk bed, then disassembling, carrying down, and putting together Patrick's old bed for Michael. I was SORE for DAYS!! The heavy wooden posts of Michael's bunk bed are still lying on the living room floor.

Patrick really liked a bed that could raise and lower his mattress at the head and foot. We tried it out at IKEA and couldn't get off. Since he spends about 50% of his free time in his bed (doing homework, using the iPad, petting Celine) and still loves everything electronic and moveable, I splurged. Now we all want one!

Actually, Patrick has just left for Georg's...maybe I can read today's Economist in Patrick's room with my back propped and feet raised! But then again, the weather is so incredible in Germany at the moment (California blue skies and sunshine) I better take advantage of that.
