Two weeks ago I was in Rome with my school class. It was a great trip and lots of fun. The weather was perfect (maby a little too hot), and I got to see a lot of different tourist attractions. On the first day (after our 18-hour bus ride), we just walked around the city in small groups to get a feel for Rome. The first thing that I noticed were the scooters. There were soo many of them, and they were all driving like maniacs. On the following days, we went to sights such as the Colosseum, Forum Romanum, the Vatikan and many, many churches.

The pizza and pasta in the restaurants were also very good. Unlike the restaurants, the breakfast in the hotel was tertrible. Some teachers didn't even appear to breakfast after the first day although they had paid for the whole week.

At the Vatican, I got to see the pope. He was so far away you could barely see him (He is above the red carpet on the posted picture). He talked in many different languages. However, his English is terrible! I first thought that he was speaking a differen language like Polish or something.
For me, the highlight was the view from St. Peter's Cathedral.

On the bus ride back, we watched the film
Illuminati (which plays in Rome), and I recognized almost every single church which was shown in the film. I thought that it was very interesting that some churches had electric candles that could be lighted by putting money into the machine.
