Christmas carolling

Aaron suggested that after church on Christmas Eve, we light all our candles and sing Christmas songs. I love it when kids offer suggestions that make holidays even more special. So we gathered by candlelight, ate jam cookies, nibbled at the gingerbread house, and sang "Frosty the Snowman" (Kate's favorite song), "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" (Laura's favorite song, dittoed by Patrick and Nick), "Jingle Bells" (Mark or Aaron's suggestion?), and "The Twelve Days of Christmas" (Mary's suggestion in honor of our Twelve Days of Christmas glassware in Kentucky).

When we were done eating and singing, we left the plate of cookies for Santa under the tree.
