Happy Second Week of Advent!

It's one of my favorite times of the German year--Advent season! Yesterday we lit the second candle on the Advent wreath Michael made for me for my birthday. We also had a delicious chocolate wine cake my friend Dorothea made me for my birthday, tasty homemade Christmas cookies a student gifted me with on Friday because I'd written her a recommendation to get a teaching position, and fresh tangerines from my favorite fruit man in Frankfurt!


The boys' and my boots have been set out in hopes that St. Nikolaus soon will be there. Tomorrow is St. Nicholas's Day in Germany and Nick's Namenstag.
